The “Aluminium Closed Loop Packaging System” announced its collaboration in the “PackBack in Action” initiative, moving forward with EPR voluntary.
On 6 October 2023, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Pollution Control, and the Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE) organized a seminar titled “EPR in Action: Designing Sustainable Packaging for Business Success.” They announced the cooperation between 4 network organizations: PackBack by TIPMSE, PPP Plastics, PRO Thailand Network, and the Aluminium Closed Loop Packaging System. These organizations focus on recycling or reusing used packaging materials, including glass, paper, plastic, milk cartons, and aluminium cans, through the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) mechanism. This mechanism extends the producer’s responsibility throughout the product lifecycle, from production to post-consumption. The event was chaired by Ms. Chayanan Pakdeejit, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Chairman of the EPR Steering Committee, at the Plenary Hall, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, during the Sustainability Expo (SX) 2023.
